The auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya is on 21st April 2015 and there already seems to be festivities everywhere. So, if you are clueless about what’s so special about this day, we’ve got all the information you need.
What is Akshaya Tritiya?
Akshaya Tritiya is that time of the year where both Hindus and Jains welcome prosperity and good luck into their lives. It is also the birthday of Lord Parasurama, the sixth incarnation of the Lord Vishnu. It is celebrated on the third day of ShuklaPaksha (bright fortnight) of the Hindu month of Vaisakha.
Auspicious Day
On this day, both the Sun and the Moon are in exaltation; they are on the heights of their brightness. This happens only once a year and hence considered most auspicious. You don’t require any “muhurta” or good time to begin new ventures as the entire day is considered auspicious. Akshaya means “never diminishing” and so it is believed that any venture commenced or gold boughton this day, will bring everlasting prosperity and good fortune.
Celebrations during Akshaya Tritiya
People celebrate Akshaya Tritiya with various rituals. Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi are venerated on this day and Akshaya Tritiya pujas are performed at home. Sacred animals like elephants, horses and cows are also worshipped on this day followed by the pujas.
People usually start new businesses or plan long journeys on this day as it said to become more fruitful. It is also considered a special day to get married. Most people believe in performing charity on Akshaya Tritiya as it is bound to be rewarding.

What to buy on Akshaya Tritiya
  •       The most popular activity on this day is purchasing gold. Buying gold on Akshaya Tritiya is said to bring good luck and prosperity. From buying gold coins to gold jewellery, people invest on gold and welcome fortune into their lives.
  •       Buying cars or homes is also considered auspicious on this day.
Legends about Akshaya Tritiya
There are various fascinating legends related to Akshaya Tritiya.
  •       It is believed that on this day, VedVyasa along with Lord Ganesha started writing Mahabharata. Another myth related to the Mahabharata is that on Akshaya Tritiya, Pandavas were gifted an “AkshayPatra” by Lord Krishna, the bowl which never runs out of food.
  •           The Krishna-Sudama Legend is probably one of the most significant. On this day, Sudama visited his friend Krishna requesting for some financial help.  Krishna welcomed Sudama benevolently. Having nothing to offer Krishna than a pouch of Poha (beaten rice), Sudama presented the bag with utter shame. However, Krishna whole-heartedly accepted his gift and relished having it. Sudama could no longer ask for anything else and returned home empty-handed. On his return, Sudama found his hut transformed into a royal palace and his family standing in royal clothes. He then realized that it was a boon given by Lord Krishna who gave Sudama more than what he had asked for.

Earrings Tips for Workwear Glam

Fashion and glamour is suitable for every environment… including the corporate world. It’s all about looking professional and sophisticated and not like you are going out for a party. Like your outfits, your jewellery shouldn’t be too flashy and distractive. Earrings are one such piece of jewellery that can give your dull and boring office wear outfits a chic twist.
The workwear earring collection from Aurobliss.com is your go-to accessories. Here are some ways to zing and freshen up your outfits.

     Classic designs a must-have
There are some earrings that work great for both work wear and special occasions. Designer gold studs are the basics and must-haves! Gold earrings suit every skin tone and brighten up your face. Studs with CZ stonesare a classic one and can sparkle any outfit without seeming too flashy. Pearl drops and short danglers also work well. Geometric shape earrings like Right Quarter earrings from Aurobliss.com are a chic work wear earrings collection.
Add a pop of color
Work wear doesn’t always mean lifeless and boring. Contrast colors work great. A simple gemstone earring can bring life to a dull outfit. Again, don’t go all out as you don’t want to seem too loud.  Steer away from bright neon outfits and jewellery at office. You can team up a grey suit with striking blue short danglers or a simple black dress with shimmering green studs.

Avoid lengthy danglers
While short danglers are great, avoid lengthy earrings. You don’t want your earrings jingle and jangle whenever you are on the move. Also, sparkling chandeliers and long earrings can be distracting to you as well as others. These long ones are especially uncomfortable when you have to talk for long hours on the phone. At that point, opt for flat earrings like gold studs.
      Keep it minimal
You don’t want to look too dolled up. Keep it simple and classy. Don’t try to add all kinds of accessories.  Exactly like how Coco Chanel says, “Once you've dressed, and before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take at least one thing off.” Go for just one bold piece. A statement earrings or simple studs can do all the talking.
